PC Systems32 bit Forth systems for modern applications for PCs and Embedded PC systems. VFX Forth for Windows features a Forth kernel written to the ANS Forth standard. VFX Forth includes the VFX optimising code generator which produces the fastest, tightest Forth code available. Among its many other features are the Studio IDE, DFX debugger, resource compiler, DOCGEN tool, the "cut and paste" API interface and the PowerNet Telnet and Web servers with CGI and ASP.
VFX Forth for Linux is suitable for all x86 Linux distributions, and runs very well on lightweight systems such as the Ebox2300 family with a 200Mhz or 300MHz CPU. The Beta test version is now available. Purchased copies will receive technical support and upgrades to the production release version. VFX Forth for DOS is a powerful Forth system for PCs and DOS-based embedded systems with 80386/486/Pentium class CPUs. Includes a royalty-free DOS extender. VFX Forth for DOS is built from the same source tree as VFX Forth for Windows, and includes the same VFX code generator and tools. The DOS extender is compatible with the Windows DOS box, is royalty free and is provided with source code. Graphics support is provided by a BGI interface with support for a wide range of video cards. The Forth Starter Kit CD contains complete versions of MPE's ProForth for Windows v2.36, ProForth for DOS v2.2 and the 16 bit DOS Forth products, Modular Forth and PC PowerForth Plus, with the manuals on the CD in PDF format, The Forth Starter Kit costs only £35.00 (approx $60.00 US, Euro 45.00). These Forths are excellent for learning Forth and for use on embedded PCs. The Forth Starter Kit was highly recommended in Paul Frenger's "Forth Report" in the Monthly Notices of the ACM SigPLAN. The Legacy Mission CD contains everything on the Forth Starter Kit, plus full source code and redistribution rights. MPE Cross CompilersMPE have been developing cross compilers for many years now. The latest version is the Windows-hosted Forth 7 Cross Compiler. Providing a wide range of features enabling rapid interactive development of embedded systems, when combined with our VFX Code Generators Forth 7 produces excellent high-performance code. No dongles! As an example of a simple cross-compiled Forth system, we are providing a free ARM Forth system with 125 page manual for all Philips LPC2xxx CPUs with at least 64k Flash and 16k RAM and cystal frequency of 10, 12, or 14.7456 MHz.
Also still available, where not available for Forth 7, are the >Forth 6 Windows compilers and the Forth 5 and Forth 4 Cross Compilers. Forth 5 and Forth 4 are fast DOS-based Forth compilers for embedded systems. There is a large range of target versions for most popular microcontrollers. MPE Forth 4 and 5 systems come complete and ready to use. No dongles! PowerNet TCP/IP and UDP/IP StacksComplete TCP/IP and UDP/IP implementations for embedded systems. The 3.0 release includes multi-threaded Telnet and Web servers with CGI and ASP. The PowerNet servers have been ported to VFX Forth. Full source is supplied as standard plus PC tools for Ethernet and serial links. Used in house at MPE for our own products, and embedded into access control systems and ISDN routers amongst other applications. Royalty free and inexpensive.
